On Saturday, March 23rd, the Licking County Master Gardener Volunteers will host the 2019 Four Seasons of Gardening Conference.
This themed event, The Art of Gardening, will be held at a new venue this year, the Community Wesleyan Church at 161 Myrtle Avenue in Newark, Ohio. The doors will open at 8 a.m. and the conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. A continental breakfast and a homemade lunch of soup, salad, and cookies are included in the conference price as well as four keynote presentations and two breakout sessions.(Gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available.) Garden-related vendors and a raffle for dozens of donated items will round out the conference events.

Nationally recognized and popular Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp, thehoosiergardener, will arrive from Indianapolis at noon and present Fabulous Foliage after lunch. And, Marengo, Ohio’s own Gale Martin, the proprietor of Natives in Harmony, will discuss Seed Collection and the Propagation of Natives. In addition to these outstanding keynote speakers, conference attendees can choose to attend two of four breakout sessions including Succulent Artistry, Artful Veggies in Containers, Nature’s Castoffs, and the Art of Kokedama.
The Licking County Master Gardener Volunteers are a nonprofit group and the price of the conference tickets helps to defray costs for the event itself and the various free, research-based gardening services these volunteers offer the Licking County community.
